I am beyond disgusted over the media spinning the news and manipulating public opinion regarding the border patrol.
FACT #1:
Thousands of illegal migrants are dying annually in the trek across Mexico.
FACT #2
Over 7,000 dead bodies of migrants have been found inside the US border, along trails in the desert, over the past 20 years. I guess that's 350 a year.
FACT #3
One out of three women arriving at the US southern border has been raped or sexually abused during the 2,000 mile trek. There is widespread human trafficking. The drug trafficking over the border contributes greatly to the ever increasing annual death toll from heroin and fentanyl overdoses, said to now be over 80,000 Americans a year. Much of these drugs originate in Asia, but come in over the Mexican border.
FACT #4
Every year, thousands of migrants are arriving at the US Border in a state of medical distress from the difficult journey across Mexico. Our border patrol has treated over 4,000 people for serious medical conditions in the past year, and saved the lives of dozens, possibly hundreds. These include children. They get zero credit for this heroic effort.
BUT, if a single one of these patients dies in their custody, the border patrol is blasted and vilified for "allowing a child to die in their custody". And that is held up to the American public as an example of their evil, why the wall is oppression, and why the border patrol should be disbanded. And then you see a parade of Democratic politicians at the microphone to discuss the situation. OMG, give me a break.
This is all way beyond disgusting. Will the news ever get back to being the news, and not being a political commercial for either political party.
The Republicans are doing some of this lying and twisting as well, on other issues. They should not get a free pass on this either, and this blog post should not be interpreted as a political posting to support the President or oppose the Democrats. I will support the President as often as I want when it is warranted, and if I disagree with his position on issues such as the environment, I will speak my mind as well. If everyone did as I advocate, a lot of problems would be solved.
It is better to be seen as a truth-teller than as a partisan bulldog. I want to be seen as a truth-teller. I am a truth-teller.
At some point, you would think the American public would just get sick of all the twisting and manipulating and politicking of the news, and start demanding reform and honesty. But in this modern age of people gathering information and forming opinions based on sound bites and memes, folks are simply not absorbing meaningful information and professional news reporting.
A shroud of nonsense has descended upon our nation. It is so revolting that I can almost imagine Walter Cronkite twitching in his grave.
Please, let in a ray of truth. Let the sun shine. Pray that the shroud of nonsense will be lifted. Let the public know what is actually happening at the border, and understand the true evil of our lying news reporters.
The whole concept of an open border is simply insane. First, it’s an insult to everyone and their descendants who arrived legally. No country in the world has an open border, and if our border were wide open, 20 million people a year would come. There would be a housing shortage all across America, causing rents to skyrocket. Wages would drop, and millions of Americans would be unemployed. Social services would be burdened, and taxes would skyrocket. The environment also takes a hit, with tens of millions of people suddenly living in a country with a much higher carbon footprint per person.
If that’s the New World Order, I want nothing to do with it. I’d much rather have a situation with a labor shortage and the associated rising income for everyone. The more that immigration is restricted, the more everyone’s income goes up. Trump’s plan to bring in immigrants with college degrees for the higher wage jobs doesn’t benefit Americans who want those jobs either. The tech companies would love to import millions from India and pay them $60,000 a year for jobs that would otherwise go for $100,000 to Americans of all backgrounds. That is not progress, and should be resisted. The H1B Visa program has decimated the incomes of millions of Americans.
The concept of The Welcome Movement is not to welcome as many people as possible to America. It’s a reform movement within the Republican Party, and it is to reach out to immigrants and minorities to generally support conservative politics. Granted, I am talking about conservative politics along the lines of reform that I advocate.
