“Orthodox” means a devout and unwavering follower of an established belief system. But what is a “liberal”?
Go back to the 1970’s, and it was easy to define. A liberal was a free-thinking person, willing to take risks, opposed to the established order of society, and open sexually. They weren’t orthodox in their thinking patterns.
The liberals of that era would say they aren’t dogmatic. They would question things, act defiant towards the status quo, and often talk with an attitude.
A conservative from the 1970’s was part of what was called “the established order”. They were not willing to take risks, they were not open sexually, and they followed belief systems that liberals categorized as dogmatic. They didn’t question things, they didn’t act defiant, and they spoke quietly and firmly, acting in command. They were obedient to the news media, which by today’s standards was conservative.
Now there’s been a shift. The word “dogmatic” has dropped off in popular use. That’s the first clue that a major shift has occurred.
I’m in business to consumer sales. I meet a lot of people in a lot of communities. I’ve noticed a strong pattern. The more “liberal” a person is these days, the more they are terrified about CoronaVirus, and follow the mask and social distancing protocol. The level of hysteria over CoronaVirus in the most far left communities is far higher than elsewhere.
They define themselves as liberal, but they are not risk taking with respect to CoronaVirus. If they won’t share air with someone without a mask, that says a lot about their sexual openness. They are obedient and dogmatic with respect to the authorities proclaiming the medical emergency.
Then I enter a house where the customer identifies as conservative, and they couldn’t give a damn if I wear the mask or not. Some will even tell me “take off that stupid mask”. They question the media dogma and the medical authorities.
It’s 2020, and the people who are “free-thinking” and don’t want to follow the dogmatic news lines being fed to them usually identify as conservative.
It’s the same pattern for global warming or some new Black Lives Matter case. Those that follow the narratives fed to them won’t consider any other possible scenarios because their underlying thought patterns are to accept the orthodoxy of their liberal social order. They are not to question it, or ponder new ideas. They believe in their social order as strongly as conservatives believed in their social order in the 1970’s.
Because they act in an orthodox manner towards their value system, I’m calling them the Orthodox Liberals. They speak quietly and matter-of-factly, as if in command. And they are. My son-in-law talks in this manner, just like my conservative Grandfather. The parallel doesn’t end there.
My son-in-law, age 26, is the classic Orthodox Liberal of 2020. He’s a nice guy, committed to his wife, risk-adverse, non-rebellious in all regards, soft-speaking, doesn’t get high or drunk, and is very frugal with his finances. Except for his politics, that also described my conservative grandfather. Joseph has a degree in Engineering from a prestigious university, as does my daughter, and his career goal is to leave the private sector and become a professor. He’s a devout follower of Bernie Sanders, Socialism, and climate change. He supports the dogma and orthodoxy of every single Left position, and he questions none of it. He’s not free-thinking, even though he would describe himself that way.
So, if Liberals in 2020 are the new orthodoxy, what are Conservatives?
Turns out that young conservatives are increasingly rebellious and cynical. They are defiant, question a lot, and talk with an attitude. Watch this video, and take special note of her tone and personality. https://www.facebook.com/howard.smith.3766/videos/3351714771505244
She identifies as conservative, but her root personality is totally rebellious with respect to orthodoxy and dogma. She’s defiant, she questions everything, and has an attitude. Her root personality is reminiscent of the rebellious and liberal 20-year old in the 1970’s; only her social and political positions are different.
She’s free-thinking, and she even ridicules people who “follow the magic words” with a clever video clip showing a magic wand.
Remember, folks who were angry and rebellious towards the “established order” in the 1970’s were free-thinkers with an attitude.
Contrast that to Barack Obama’s quiet and commanding speaking style. Obama is not at all cynical, and his positions are basically the new established order. My son-in-law was 13 when Obama began his first Presidential bid in 2007. That election was the ascension of the Left Orthodoxy. Obama mentored him and all the other Orthodox Liberals. Obama uses lofty words and phrases, as if a strong vocabulary is evidence that someone is smart and correct. I find it smug and condescending. Don’t try to talk above me.
Donald Trump’s speaking style is a lot like the woman in this video. He actually has a very strong vocabulary, but doesn’t use it. He deliberately talks on a 7th grade level, so that the message doesn’t go over anyone’s head. He repeats key phrases in a speech two or three times. I also have a strong vocabulary, and I won’t use it either. Same reason. We’re both mad at the New World Order.
Trump is risk-taking and open-minded, he’s been sexually open, and he’s cynical towards the left Orthodoxy. He’s mentoring the young lady in the video.
The positions of liberalism have become the new established order, which is the New World Order. A lot of people are acting very defensive and orthodox towards that value set. The guardians of this left Orthodoxy are the mainstream media. ANTIFA are the hooded social order warriors who seek to attack and destroy anyone who dares to oppose their order. They fill the same social and political role as the KKK in the 1920’s.
There has silently been a role reversal of liberals and conservatives. What’s up is down, and what’s down is up. Crazy times we are living in.
Young couples under 34, Millennial age, are often loyal to their spouses, devoted to their children, shrewd with their finances, and they follow the social order (which is now Liberal), unconditionally. What they are orthodox towards is not God or country, it’s the Leftist Orthodoxy. “I’m a citizen of the world”, they’ll say.
Everything pivoted when the orthodoxy changed. The people who are demonized in this new order of society are those from the prior established order --- the straight, White, American man, especially if Christian or Catholic. That’s me. I even have an English last name that was prominent and respected in the old established order for writing the legal library used by lawyers. I’m 6’2” with blue eyes, light brown hair, and an athletic build. I’m accused of looking pure Anglo-Saxon. From the perspective of revisionist history and the New World Order, I’m a born evil person deserving of hate. I’ve been dealing with this my whole life, and I feel like a target. I have to live quietly and perfectly, or I’ll be instantly selected for some demonization campaign to prove that the straight White Anglo-Saxon Protestant (WASP) man is the personification of evil.
People of White ethnic ancestry, say Italian, Irish, Greek, or Polish, have only been demonized for about 10 or 15 years, just for being White. They are quickly getting tired of it, and coming around to my reality. The irony is my actual ancestry is more diverse than I look. I have ancestry from all over Europe, and I’m only 94% White on a DNA test. I just happen to have a prominent English surname.
In a weird way, I can partially understand the racism that Blacks endured in past era’s, being demonized for what they were born as, because I’m demonized for what I was born as by the New World Order. Yes, I know they had it worse.
And just like the Hippies of the 1970’s, the conservatives who are demonized now are free-thinking and cynical about everything. They will question the orthodoxy and dogma of the media and our education system. And I do. I also married outside my race, so at least by some criteria, I’m open sexually. And what about the risk-taking criteria? I’m not content to be employed. I established my own business. That’s risk taking. I dabble in the stock market, and trade aggressively. That’s risk taking. I defy the New World Order, like Trump. I’m just more low-key about it. I’m conservative by value set, but I’m not orthodox in my thinking patterns. It all makes perfect sense to me.
Let me announce loudly and clearly: I OPPOSE THE ESTABLISHED DISORDER.
Let those words be blasted into the collective consciousness of humanity.
