THE APOCALYPSE IN THE RESOLUTION

Eric Martindale • March 9, 2019

Wow, there’s a lot to talk about regarding the House of Representatives Resolution against Anti-Semitism and Islamophobia.

First, here’s the full text of the House Resolution, as republished in the Times of Israel. https://www.timesofisrael.com/full-text-of-house-resolution-against-hate- including-anti-semitism/

Second, anyone who has been to Family Court for a divorce knows the cardinal rule of public discussion. That rule is whenever you unilaterally bring up a specific allegation for the sole purpose of disassociating yourself, no matter how firmly you think you debunked the matter, the allegation falls into the realm of “he said, she said”, and many readers will wonder if it might be true. For that reason, the following paragraph in the Resolution is extremely damaging to the Jewish community, and it is counterproductive to the goal of reducing anti-Semitism:

AS PRINTED IN THE OFFICIAL RESOLUTION -
“Whereas Jewish people are subject in the media and political campaigns to numerous other dangerous anti-Semitic myths as well, including that Jews control the United States Government or seek global, political, and financial domination and that Jews are obsessed with money;”

I’m guessing that a divorce lawyer wasn’t part of the committee writing this Resolution. It’s been said that anything written by a committee will be a disaster, and this Resolution would be Exhibit A.

You know who’s obsessed with money? Bankers. Bankers are obsessed with money. And a whole lot of them are not Jewish. And those that are Jewish are not any more obsessed with money than those that are Christian, Muslim, Mormon, or atheist.

It’s an understatement to suggest that bankers control the United States Government, or seek global, political, and financial domination. That is the status quo. That is the New World Order. Lots of people know it, and the rest have their heads in the sand. And yes, bankers are obsessed with money. I already know the FBI has a file on me, so they can just add this to my file. I don’t care.

The mere act of bringing it up, and then connecting the matter not to bankers in general, BUT TO JEWS, is far beyond stupid. It’s an apocalypse. That allegation in that Whereas Clause is absolutely not true in reference to Jews, and in fact, the most liberal and left-thinking Jews are firmly against the financial community, and instead they want broad-scale socioeconomic justice.

I live in a part of the country with a heavy Jewish population, and I know a whole lot of Jews. For every Jew in the financial community, there are at least 10 Jews who fight for social justice on economic matters. Bernie Sanders comes to mind. And while I may believe that most of their economic recommendations are too far to the Left, I think the 10:1 ratio must be acknowledged in order to fend off any increase in anti-Semitism as a result of the Resolution. Let me repeat, as loudly and clearly as possible:

For every Jew in the financial community, there are at least 10 Jews who are very liberal, who oppose the financial community, and who fight for social justice on economic matters.

I believe that this Resolution, as written, will increase public scrutiny of the allegation that they want to squash, and cause unwarranted anti-Semitism. President Trump needs to call this out, and demand that paragraph be removed, among other changes.

The only silver lining is that people will look at that controversial Whereas clause, and say “Well, if Jews don’t control the United States government or seek global, political, and financial domination, then who does”. There will be discussion. And that discussion will lead to the truth. It’s the bankers and the whole financial community.

And while I am a Republican, my brand of Economic Populism is “demand side economics”, not the supply-side economics advocated by the bankers. I believe the Parties are most accurately defined by social issues, and there’s room for discussion on economic issues within each Party.

Now that we are done with addressing the apocalypse in the Resolution, let’s go on to the third major point. The Resolution is a giant exercise in political correctness. It must have been drafted to address anti-Semitism, and then some people said it has to include Islamophobia or they won’t sign it.

What’s more important is what was missing. There’s barely a mention of the concerns of the Christian community, and that’s probably why about two dozen Republican lawmakers refused to sign it.

The document is so dripping with political correctness that even I won’t ask for anything to be removed or modified, other than the apocalypse clause that I just described. The real battle lines are the issues that were too politically incorrect to make it in the Resolution.

Here is what I would have demanded for inclusion if I served on the US House of Representatives:

“Whereas, the decline in public support for personal responsibility has led to an increase in people blaming whole groups of people for the social and economic dysfunction in our urban centers, and in all of America. This class conflict perspective has led to tremendous divisiveness in America, racial tension, violence, and to a polarization of our politics. Personal responsibility has been replaced by group responsibility, and that mode of thinking has been the historic root cause of anti-Semitism in dozens of countries around the world. It is also the cause of Islamophobia, and to a growing demonization by the Far Left of straight, White Republican men in America.

Whereas, Christians, Jews, Muslims, and the people of all other Faiths have the fundamental right to a belief in traditional gender roles and restricting marriage to heterosexual couples, if that is their Teachings. These rights are fundamentally protected under Freedom of Religion and Freedom of Speech, and are not to be infringed upon by any form of persecution, including hate speech, violence, exclusion from activities in the public square and on school campuses, lawsuits, and legislative initiatives to further minimize the role of Faith in our society.”

“Whereas, Freedom of Religion does not mean Freedom from Religion. Our Founding Fathers envisioned a society where all believers in God are free to worship and to prosper, and in which the belief in God was widely respected, but no specific religion or denomination shall be established as the official Faith of the Republic. “

“Whereas, all Faiths are encouraged to find common ground on social issues, agree to disagree on matters of Faith, and forge a unified alliance to promote the family as the center of public policy, and to address the social and spiritual deterioration of the values and culture of America.”

Those are the real battle lines, and that’s why these matters were left out of the Resolution. Thank you, and may God Bless America and all of humanity.

We are upset that Donald Trump is positioning himself as the great defender of Israel. Trump has done nothing to try to win the Muslim vote, even though most Muslims are social conservatives. Meanwhile, the political support that many Muslims feel for the Democrats is unsustainable, as the core positions of the Left are hostile to our beliefs. Both problems are much more than frustrating. Muslims who are social conservatives must take a stand to state their beliefs. Those who agree with the following 25 conservative points are asked to click on the link below, print it, sign your name to this Declaration, and mail it to the Trump Campaign. Trump needs to be deluged with thousands of these. Each will be opened, because they think it’s a campaign donation. Trump and the Republican establishment need to hear it loud and clear that Muslims are the real conservatives, and that Jews are the Leftist and atheist enemy of the whole world.
